The 2020 Election

The 2020 election is a critical election for a multitude of reasons. Not only are we still in the effects of the COVID pandemic and the ripple effect of more people voting via absentee or mail-in-ballots which will not only delay knowing the election results, but the potential for ballots not being delivered to voters, or back to be counted, or signatures not being verified. On top of all that uncertainty, a lot hangs in the balance.

· The hotly contested race for U.S. President and which party will set the tone for the nation? Will we have a Republican who will continue to appoint conservative judges to the Supreme Court and District Courts? Or will we have a Democrat that might even add more seats to the supreme court so they can pack it with activist judges?

· One-third of the U.S. Senate seats are on the ballot, and with that the control of the U.S. Senate . . . the body that confirms the judicial appointments.

· The entire U.S. House is on the ballot and control could go either way. Will the Republicans retake it or will the Democrats retain? Who will set the tone for the nation?

· Most importantly, and least well known, is that 2020 is a census year. The state legislatures elected this November will be redrawing the district lines not just for their state legislative districts but also for the U.S. Congress. The party that wins control of the state legislature will impact not just their own state but also the makeup of Congress. They will draw the lines such that 80% of races strongly favor one party over the other, which is why 80% of legislative races are actually decided in the party primary, not in November.

With so much on the line, what should you do? People of faith need to be light in the darkness and make our voices known. If we don’t stand up for our values and elect people who will fight for our freedoms, we are like the steward who buried his talent and was chastised by our Lord.

I know I want to hear “Well Done, Good and faithful servant” and be a good steward of my time, talents and treasure. One treasure we are blessed with in America is our vote. It is not just a right but a responsibility of all Christians to vote. . . . and iVoterGuide.com is there to help you be a good steward of that responsibility and vote wisely.

Good Evening Neighbors,

“Our part is this, is to bring the culture, of the kingdom of God, in to manifestation. ‘What are you talking about Dr. Baker?’ Acts 17:26, the culture of the kingdom of God does not talk about race. That needs to be erased, from, our language. The culture of the kingdom of God or the church of Jesus Christ should never mention race or racist. The only racist there is, is Satan. And he hates mankind.” Apostle Dr. Bacer J. Baker
